And I think about how it would be
to have you in my space
to feel your mind in my mind,
to be so close to you:
and everything touches,
and I hear your blood
and mine ringing,
like a peal of bells.
(and if I am not careful I will
lose myself to the clamour)
And I think about the feel of things,
how touch can be like water
how sometimes almost burning
how space can disappear:
and edges blend together,
and I see your heart
and mine glowing,
like a kind of sun.
(and if I am not careful I will
find myself starlight swimming)
And I think about how space and light both shine,
how light flickers and dims
how shapes present shadows
how curves create mysteries:
and here thoughts merge and mingle
and you open our minds
and I open our hearts
like a kind of sigh
(and if I am not careful I will
find I'm you and you are me)
