Your music

your music is so

loud today

I'm struggling

to think

to breathe

to love

and sometimes in the moments

when I miss your song the most,

I push against the silent din

a wild, wailing cry.

your air is so

thick right now

I'm struggling

to see

to look

to be

and whenever there are gaps between

when I miss your sound the most,

I slide along the edge of space,

a frantic, lost step.

your light is so

bright in time

I'm struggling

to laugh

to sigh

to dance

and when the spaces grow too large

when I need your presence most

I linger in the steps we shared,

a lost and lonely dance.
